Last week was a fun week, I hosted two event one at Maruschka de Margó’s Stockholm the best store for fabulous clothing, we introduced fashion brand Modest by MF and jewelry brand Sjö Prearls, shopping at Maruschka de Margó is always a great experience.
The next day I hosted a lecture with designer-artist Lars Nilsson at Carling Dalensson Gallery, Lars and I met in Paris and then later in NYC with his designer history he is one of the most accomplished designers from Sweden. Lars designed my weddingdress 25 years ago all in chantilly lace when he was the designer at Bill Blass. At Carling Dalenson gallery in Stockholm you can see his stunning candle holders and his watercolour collage paintings, I am in love with every piece, the show is open until december 17.
I attended a wonderful event hosted by The Philantropic Society it was a fantastic charity dinner at The Grand Hotel Stockholm for Childhood Foundation, then I was off to London for 48 hours.
I stayed at my newfound gem The Charlotte Hotel that I loved, a five star luxury boutique hotel with a very cozy ambiance, I will be back soon, and also I will try the other Firmdale hotels in London and in my hometown NYC.
The owner Kit Kemp has really done a fantastic job with the unique awardwinning decor and art curation, very detail in the hotel is to perfection, everything was a pure delight at The Charlotte Hotel.
I started off with high tea in the guest livingroom, then I dicovered my room with an enormous bathtub and sweet greetings with cake and champagne, the bed and linnen was the most comfy. The neighbourhood SoHo was quite new to me and I loved it, so close to everything and walking distance to a lot of fun shopping.
We had lunch at indian Darjeeling Express then off to view the Marie Antoinette exhibit at The Victoria & Albert museum, it was one of the best exhibits I have seen, so well curated.Dinner at the classic Langan’s, the onion soup and Dover Sole was delicious. We saw the Picasso at Tate Modern and incredibly interesting exhibit and building, lunch at Devonshire Pub and high tea at jewelry designer Pia Hallström’s home, quick stop at Christie’s to view the Fabergé winter egg that sold for 280 million SEK.Finally we git to the opening Nordic Vision at Cadogan Fine art in Notting Hill, drinks at SOHO house Electric apparently the original SOHO house and japanese dinner at ROKA, We found a perfect vintage Burberry trencoat at a hip vintage clothing store!
